Stroll the Hay Festival with Margaret Atwood
Margaret Atwood is a literary goddess to many. The author of such modern marvels as The Handmaid’s Tale and The Blind Assassin is one of our bravest, most prodigious authors. We all know that. But did you also know that she’s an apparent fiend for decadent dairy products? That’s only one of the interesting nuggets you’ll discover upon reading Atwood’s Guardian Unlimited journal of her attendance in Wales at the recent Hay Festival, which celebrates the craft of writing worldwide. She discusses some fellow authors, like Seamus Heaney and George Saunders. She endorses “Jolly Green Giant” Al Gore’s speech at the event. And there’s much more. It’s an entertaining little article, from a big literary talent.
