So many blogs, so little time.

I’ve finally gotten around to reading the June issue of Bookslut and, as usual, have discovered a bounty of author-focused content. We here at the still-young Cuppa Joad are gearing up for our own brushes with authorial greatness. But even when we’re hobnobbing with the likes of Annie Proulx and T.C. Boyle, we’ll still happily refer folks to primo literary blogs like Bookslut.

Here’s a glimpse of what you’ll discover this month at Bookslut:

  • Karen Armstrong: She’s a venerable religion writer, with the recently published The Great Transformation, which is the subject of an in-depth post that is part review, part article, and all interesting.
  • Salvador Plascencia: His auspicious debut, The People of Paper, was published a year ago by McSweeney’s, and he has plenty to say about his innovative publisher and his writing process in this interview.
  • George Saunders: The loveable, oddball author of the just-released In Persuasion Nation candidly discusses his teaching career—books on his syllabus, guest author-instructors like Brian Evenson and Mary Gaitskill, and more.

You’ll find all of this and more when you start bookslutting around.
